The short answer
Agate Precious Metals is a legitimate online bullion dealer founded in 2022 in West Seneca, New York. It sells gold, silver, platinum, palladium, and copper — coins, bars, and rounds — at wholesale-style pricing, and every fact on this page can be checked against the company's own stores and contact channels.
Facts you can verify
- Company: Agate Precious Metals, founded in 2022.
- Location: 3521 Seneca Street, West Seneca, NY.
- Entirely online: There is no walk-in storefront — ordering, support, and fulfillment all run online. The Seneca Street location is not a retail shop.
- Official retail store: agatemetals.com — open to everyone, no dealer approval needed.
- Official dealer portal: agatepresales.com — a login-gated presale site for approved dealers.
- Official email: [email protected].
- Official phone: 716-829-9997.
- What it sells: Gold, silver, platinum, palladium, and copper coins, bars, and rounds — including fractional gold (1 gram and 1/10 oz pieces) and pre-1965 90% U.S. silver coinage.
- Where products come from: Major mints and refiners, including the Perth Mint, PAMP, Valcambi, and Argor-Heraeus.
- President: Joe Agate — see the press page for his media contact details.
How to verify you're on the real site — not an impostor
Check the domain name letter by letter before you order or reply to a message. Agate's official addresses are exactly these:
- agatemetals.com — the retail store. All orders are placed through the online checkout on this domain.
- agatepresales.com — the dealer presale portal.
- agatepreciousmetals.com — this company information site (the page you are reading).
- [email protected] — the official support email.
Agate Precious Metals sells only through its official properties. Retail orders happen only through the checkout at agatemetals.com, and dealer presales only through agatepresales.com — this site, agatepreciousmetals.com, publishes company information and takes no orders. If a website, email, or message claims to be Agate Precious Metals but uses a different domain or email address, treat it as an impostor — and if anyone directs you to order or pay somewhere else, stop and confirm with us first at [email protected] or 716-829-9997.
How buying works — and the protections in place
- Secure checkout: Card payments at agatemetals.com are processed securely through Stripe and WooPayments, established payment processors.
- Insured, tracked shipping: Every order ships insured and tracked, and high-value orders require a signature on delivery.
- Physical delivery: Agate does not hold customer metal in a vault — your metal ships to you and you hold it yourself.
- Honest pricing mechanics: Product prices follow the spot market and update as it moves. Listings marked “spot plus” are priced at spot plus a stated premium, with the final price set when the metal price is locked at order confirmation.
Returns and buyback — in plain terms
Bullion has no ordinary returns, because metal prices move constantly — instead, Agate buys bullion back through its buyback program at prices that follow the live markets with roughly a 2–3% spread. Non-bullion accessories can be returned within 7 calendar days of delivery, with a 15% restocking fee on returns made on days 4–7. The full policy is published on the store: Agate's return & buyback policy. To sell metal back, see Sell To Us.
